Jim Hardy

Jim HardyJustin Hicks is an absolutely wonderful golf instructor. He is a committed student of the game. He has studied the methodologies of the greatest teachers in golf and personally studied under several of them. As a result, Justin’s information is correct; he accurately diagnoses swing flaws, clearly communicates the correction and does a super job of coaching the student to learn the new skill. I recommend Justin to all golfers, regardless of skill level or age.

Jim Hardy, currently ranked 7th in Golf Digest’s top 50 instructors, is the 2007 PGA National Teacher of the Year Edit

Carol Mann

carol mann lpgaJustin has done a tremendous job in accumulating one of the most extensive clip libraries I have ever seen and he has been nice enough to share quite a few of them with me. His 2800 clips go as far back as Bobby Jones, Sam Snead, and Ben Hogan and include the top players of today from the PGA, LPGA, and AJGA tour. He uses these swings to give his students access to the best in visual aids to further their understanding of golf swing fundamentals. Justin is a true student of the game and takes tremenous pride in helping his students. I highly recommend Justin to anyone who would like to improve their game.

Steve Locke

Steve_LockeToday while playing at Rancho Bernardo Inn with the Torrey Pines Seniors Team, I was very comfortable with my shots and shot the best round of my life. I shot a 74, with 12 pars and 2 birdies and just 4 bogies. The new swing is working well.

Andrew Gerber

Andrew_GerberFirst of all I want to tell you that I shot an 82 (beating my previous best by 3 shots) at Rancho Bernardo Inn from the blue tees on Monday, which is my lowest round ever. You had a huge hand in that, so thank you for everything that you've helped me with so far. I didn't feel like I played that well either, which makes that score even more remarkable.

Bill Chapman

Bill_ChapmanI have taken several golf lessons but nothing helped my game as much as the playing lesson with Justin at Admiral Baker. The playing lesson has the advantage of Justin seeing how I actually perform on the course. He was able to make suggestions at Admiral Baker that immediately helped to lower my score and set up a program for me, based on how I played, that would help me reach my goals. The video summary following the playing lesson was extremely helpful in retaining and understanding the changes that were discussed. With Justin’s help, I have improved my scoring from the mid 90's to consistently shooting in the low 80's. No doubt this is a great value; I should have done this sooner.

Ted Gleason

ted gleasonAs college teammates at UCLA, I watched Justin win multiple college events and for the past 15 years have witnessed his dedication to teaching, coaching and mentoring golfers of all ages. Justin continues to be a student of the game (San Diego Chapter Player of the Year and Buick Invitational participant) which allows him to provide a comprehensive, yet simple, approach to his teaching. He understands there is more to the game than hitting balls on the range and has the skill, experience, and knowledge to identify the most pertinent areas of your game that need attention. I have worked with many instructors and now being a competitive amateur player, have entrusted my game to Justin. With some hard work and Justin’s help, I recently shot my career low of 62! Justin has all the skills required to improve your game, he is an honest, trustworthy and dedicated person. It is without hesitation that I recommend Justin as an instructor.

Don Thorp

Don ThorpMy goal was to shift the range of my scores lower and that has happened... on average ten strokes better. My worst round is much better and my lowest round was only 4 over par: 6 bogeys, 10 pars and two birdies. It consisted of nice tee shots, good chipping and putting. My lower back pain is gone and doesn’t even bother me on the practice tee.

Chris Cotter

Chris CotterI wanted to thank you for all of your help. This past Saturday I played The Vineyard at Escondido. For the first time ever I broke 80. I finished with a five over par, 75!! . I’ll be back for a lesson soon. Thanks again for your help. I never would have come close to this without your lessons.

Alex Vasel

Alex VaselI had never picked up a golf club until a couple of years ago. I took a couple of lessons and started playing but could never break 100. Then I started taking lessons with Justin Hicks. 1 year later I am consistently in the low 90’s and just shot my career lows of 86 & 87. When I feel myself reverting to bad habits I review video of past lessons and I’m back on track. Most importantly I enjoy playing more than ever! Justin understands that we are all built differently and helps each student unlock his or her best swing.

Bob Buckingham

Bob BuckinghamWhen I first started golfinstruction with Justin a few years ago, I was struggling to break 100 and golf was not very much fun. I went from a 24+ handicap to a 16 after year one, a 12 after year 2, and am currently a 10. In addition, I broke 80 for the first time and now regularly shoot in the low 80’s. Thanks to Justin, golf is fun again and I have gained extensive knowledge about the golf swing, short game and mental game.

Gloria Sanchez

GloriaJust writing you a quick note to thank you for the amazing results I have received this past year under your instruction. When I began taking lessons from you, my handicap was 28 and 1 year later, my handicap is 13. Not only have I drastically improved my swing, but I also now have a heightened understanding of swing mechanics which allow me to self diagnose my swing flaws. I really appreciate your patience and ability to adapt to my learning style.

Chris Olson

Chris_OlsonWhen I first went to Justin for lessons, I was shooting in the low 90s with very inconsistent ball striking. Justin first met me for a 9-hole playing lesson where he observed my shots, talked me through each hole and videotaped my swing. This was a helpful starting point, as Justin not only gave me some help with my swing, but also some suggestions on how to manage and mentally approach the game. Once we began our lessons, Justin reworked my swing, starting with the fundamentals. After several weeks of lessons, the change I saw in my game was dramatic. I have begun hitting more solid drives and iron shots, and scoring consistently in the 80s, with a personal-best round of 76. Working with Justin taught me how to self-diagnose my poor shots and make the appropriate adjustments. Justin is a great teacher with a wealth of knowledge about the golf swing and very dedicated to helping his students improve their game.
